Basketball

Basketball has always been a popular sport among Yuan Ching boys because it is a sport that challenges them both physically and mentally. Both the ‘B’ and ‘C’ boys train twice weekly throughout the whole year and consist of physical conditionings as well as drills and tactics.
In 2011, both our ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division Boys participated in the annual West Zone Basketball Tournament. Through these trainings and matches, our boys learn the importance of team work, discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship. In addition, we have also played in friendly matches with other schools and this has not only allowed our boys to gain much exposure to different levels of opponents but also helped in building friendships.
Both the ‘B’ and ‘C’ boys will continue to train hard and strive for better success under the guidance of the coach.

Dragon Boat

Vision:

Develop our members into committed and disciplined dragon boaters.

Mission:

Youthful, Competitive, Disciplined and Brave

Goals:

Students to strive for success in both academic as well as sporting front.

Water-based training:

Dragon boating skill, Kayaking skills

Land training:

Weight-lifting, Gym training, Running, Static exercises

Competition:

- 7th Temesek Regatta
- 11th National Inter-Schools Dragon Boat Championship 2011
- Singapore International Water Fest 2011

Netball

Vision:

To groom players who are confident, disciplined and committed and work together as a team to achieve our goals.

Mission:

To promote the sport of Netball among Yuan Ching students and hone their sporting skills in this field.

Goals:

To be in the top four positions for the West Zone School Challenge.

Soccer

Vision:

Our vision is to encourage individual development through programmes that provide students the challenge and the opportunity to reach their potential. Students will be guided and fostered in an atmosphere of respect, honesty, loyalty and unselfishness.

Mission:

Our mission is to provide the students of YCSS with a developmental atmosphere for them to develop skills, a solid foundation to build a strong character and good ethics, team commitment, good sportsmanship, respect for the game, self discipline and foster enjoyment.

Goals:

Each player will have the opportunity to play football in a supportive and positive environment that includes the element of fun, enjoyment and development of skills at a level that fits the students’ interest and ability, and the creation of a healthy environment for talented players who aspire to reach their full potential.
